Nigeria’s technology and business leaders gathered this week for a series of high-level engagements hosted by Teknowledge President/CEO, Aileen Allkins and Territory Director Africa, Olugbolahan Olusanya; bringing together top executives, innovators, and policymakers to explore the intersection of artificial intelligence, customer experience, leadership transformation, and national skills development.
Across three key moments – an Executive Think Tank: The AI-First Evolution event, an Executive Women in Leadership Brunch, and a joint press conference with Microsoft announcing Teknowledge’s partnership with Microsoft in delivering the next phase of the National AI Skills Initiative.
AI Is Redefining Competitive Advantage
The week opened with the Executive Think Tank: The AI-First Evolution event with the theme “Transforming Customer Experience Through Agentic AI” convened C-level executives, technology leaders, and enterprise decision-makers to examine how Agentic AI is reinventing customer experience.
One of the most consistent themes throughout the discussion was the compression of competitive timelines. As AI adoption accelerates globally, companies are no longer competing only on products or services but increasingly on how effectively they integrate AI into customer engagement and operational models.
As Aileen Allkins, the President & CEO of TeKnowledge, emphasized during the session:
“Competitive relevance now depends on how quickly organizations adopt AI capabilities, noting that business leaders must move at the pace of the fastest innovators in their industry”.
Customer Experience Is the First Frontier for AI Transformation
Participants widely agreed that customer experience (CX) is emerging as the most immediate and visible area of AI-driven transformation.
Organizations are increasingly moving beyond traditional automation tools toward Agentic AI systems capable of orchestrating intelligent interactions across multiple customer touchpoints. These systems enable businesses to anticipate customer needs, personalize engagement, and deliver services on a scale.
Exploring the Future of Customer Experience Through Agentic AI
During the event, Asli Uysal, Global SVP of Sales and Alliance, Senthil Shanmugam, Senior Consultant for CX/AI, and Adewale Adeyemi, Head of Executive Business Development, led an in-depth exploration of the ongoing transformation of customer experience (CX) enabled by Agentic AI. Their discussion covered the emerging framework for CX, as well as practical use cases that are shaping the future of customer engagement. The session provided attendees with insights into how Agentic AI is redefining interactions, driving intelligent orchestration, and enabling organizations to deliver more seamless and personalized customer experiences.
A notable highlight was inviting Damilola Osikoya, Founder and CEO of Voyagequest, to join Senthil Shanmugam on stage. Together, they reflected on the design of smarter customer moments, emphasizing how Agentic AI is being leveraged to create more intuitive and impactful customer journeys. Damilola specifically shared perspectives on the evolving role of AI in the global transport industry, illustrating its capacity to enhance operational efficiency and elevate customer satisfaction within this sector.
This theme was further explored in a session titled “Reinventing Customer Engagement Through Agentic AI,” delivered by Temi Odude, Senior AI Solutions Architect at Microsoft.
The presentation examined how autonomous AI agents and intelligent orchestration platforms are transforming how organizations interact with customers, helping enterprises move toward more predictive and seamless service experiences.
Responsible AI Governance Is Becoming a Business Priority
While innovation was central to the discussion, leaders also emphasized the need for responsible AI deployment and strong governance frameworks.
A fireside discussion on “Ethical Governance of AI in the Modern Workplace” brought together cybersecurity and technology leaders to explore the safeguards required as organizations scale AI adoption.
Moderated by Asli Uysal, Global SVP Sales & Alliances at TeKnowledge, the panel included:
- Frances Undelikwo, CISO, Nova Bank
- Emmanuel Etuk, Senior Technology Leader, World Trade Centre
- Kelvin Agaje, Cybersecurity Lead, TeKnowledge Nigeria
Panelists highlighted the importance of cybersecurity safeguards, data governance, regulatory alignment, and executive accountability to ensure AI technologies are deployed responsibly.
Another key insight was the growing gap between AI experimentation and executive readiness. While technical teams are increasingly testing AI capabilities, many organizations are still developing the leadership frameworks needed to scale adoption strategically.
Celebrating Women Leaders Driving Change
In celebration of International Women’s Day, TeKnowledge also hosted an Executive Women in Leadership Brunch that brought together senior female leaders across industries for open conversations on leadership, resilience, and influence in times of rapid change.
The key panel session titled “Leading Through featured candid reflections from women leaders including Ifeoluwa Ayoade, VP Product & Engineering at Zest, Ola Tomiwa-Williams, Chief Growth & AI Officer, Middle East & Africa at Microsoft, and Oluwatomisin Mordi, Country HR Lead at TeKnowledge Nigeria. The panelists shared personal insights on navigating disruption, leading transformation, and driving innovation within their organizations.
The event also featured a leadership masterclass titled “Power, Purpose & Strategic Influence for Women in Leadership delivered by Dr. Nefi Wole-Abu, Co-founder of Lane Consulting.
The session provided practical tools for women leaders across all levels to strengthen their influence during periods of transformation, focusing on strategic communication, decision-making clarity, and purposeful leadership.
Together, the conversations underscored the importance of inclusive leadership ecosystems in building resilient organizations and sustainable innovation.
Expanding Nigeria’s Inclusive AI Skills Ecosystem
The week concluded with a joint press conference between TeKnowledge and Microsoft, announcing the second phase of the National AI Skills Initiative in Nigeria.
The expanded partnership aims to advance AI education and digital skills development, helping equip Nigeria’s workforce to participate in the global AI economy.
As one of Africa’s fastest-growing digital economies, Nigeria has significant potential to become a regional hub for AI innovation. However, unlocking this opportunity requires sustained investment in education, talent development, and ecosystem collaboration.
The next phase of the initiative will expand AI learning opportunities, strengthen developer capabilities, and help organizations build the talent pipelines required for AI-driven transformation.
The Road Ahead for Nigeria’s AI-Driven Future
Across the week’s engagements, one message became clear: technology innovation, leadership capability, and inclusive skills development must evolve together.
Artificial intelligence is reshaping industries at an unprecedented pace, and organizations that succeed will be those that combine innovation with responsible governance, inclusive leadership, and sustained investment in talent development.
For Nigeria, with its growing technology ecosystem and youthful population — the opportunity is immense.
The conversations hosted this week highlighted both the urgency and optimism surrounding the country’s digital future, underscoring the importance of collaboration between industry leaders, technology partners, and policymakers in shaping the next chapter of AI-driven growth.
