Research
Teknowledge does world-class research and development. The
Company has R&D programs run by senior managers in Training
Systems, Distributed Systems, and Knowledge
Systems. These programs are complementary and inherently
"dual-use," enabling Teknowledge to integrate its own proprietary
software and third-party products into a total systems solution
for customers in industry or government. The common thread
between all of these programs is extending the ability to
process customer knowledge and distribute it effectively
over the Internet.
In a time when the competitive advantage of Internet companies
often hangs on hype alone, Teknowledge has produced technical
innovations systematically, and forged substantive competitive
advantages. The company has nine fundamental software patents.
Since 1985 Teknowledge has pit itself against much larger
industry players in the highly technical world of DARPA
and NIST national program competitions - and won consistently.
This R&D base pays for itself in contract revenue, and it
provides a constant stream of innovative new systems concepts,
component integration, and software development. In addition,
each of the programs pulls technology from the R&D world
into practical commercial applications, with special emphasis
on providing competitive advantage to Teknowledge's Financial
Systems unit.
